After my awesome morning yesterday, I had a great afternoon!! I got to spend some time speaking with Anthony's sister (who speaks English really well - all of my conversation friends do, actually!), which was really fun! It's been great getting to know people here! I love it! And after that I took a combi to the university. I wish you could all take a combi. It's an experience. Anthony helped me identify which combi to get on, and from there I zoomed off to the university. I use the word "zoomed" on purpose. The combis go quite fast, and they stop a lot. I think that all of the combi drivers are secretly racing to see who can get wherever they are going the fastest. The combi that I was on was pretty full. I was standing. This is the first time I've stood on a combi. It's kind of tricky to stay on your feet. But I did!
This morning, I woke up and realized how much I had to do. I had to finish some reading for a morning class, I needed to find buttons and thread for my Didactica de las Matematicas class (last night our professor told us to bring buttons and thread to class today), I had to write a short investigation for Didactica de las Matematicas, I had two classes in the morning and one in the afternoon, and tomorrow I have to turn in a written work about my experiences so far at the Colegio Claretiano. Not to mention I have two midterms on Friday. Ok! I thought about all of this for about 30 seconds before I realized that... I already graduated! Haha! Okay, yes, I'm still going to do my best on the work that I have to complete. But it is so very very freeing to know that my future (my tonight, my tomorrow, my next week, my next month, my next year...) are in God's hands. Whatever comes today, be it homework or an unforseen adventure, He is with me and He is in control of what happens, not me.
This morning, I headed off to the Centro Comercial de Yanahuara with the goal of finding buttons and thread. This seemed kind of like finding a needle in a haystack to me... I don't know where to find buttons!! The Centro Comercial de Yanahurara is a bunch of really little shops. Really, they are cubby holes. Shoppers don't actually enter these stores. There are hallways with stores on each side, and from the halls, shoppers can see just about everything in the little shop. I walked around a bit, looking for buttons. I didn't see any. So, I thought I would ask one of the shopkeepers if she knew if any of the shops had buttons.
God is really amazing. As soon as I asked the shopkeeper where I can find buttons, she pulled out this huge bag of buttons and asked me how many I needed. And she had thread. Oh man!
And right now I'm sitting on a lovely couch in the university typing this blog!!
God is so good, He even helps us find the "buttons" in our lives. We love you Hannah.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you found your buttons and thread! It's amazing how God takes care of the little things. :) Love you!
