Mysterious stuffed potatos

On Wednesday evening after Didactica de las Matematicas, I got to spend some time taking with David, one of my conversation friends. We had a great conversation about everything from broken bones to combis. I know I keep saying this, but it really can't be over-emphasized: I am immensely enjoying getting to know my conversation friends and other students here! They have been such a blessing to me!

This morning I spent some more time at Colegio Claretiano. I talked to a literature professor for a short time, and the I spoke with Profesor Jose Aguilar for a bit. We talked about math (yay!!) and some of the differences that I've encountered between math teaching in the States and at Colegio Claretiano.

And we talked briefly about bullying. One thing that I've noticed between my time at Colegio Claretiano and my Didactica de las Matematicas class is that, here in Peru, a LOT of attention is given to bullying. This, I think, is a good thing! We have talked about bullying a lot in Didactica de las Matematias, there was a seminar about bullying for all of the education students, and Profesor Jose Aguilar is an active proponent of anti-bullying at Colegio Claretiano.

Also, hey, I had some delicious causa for lunch today! Causa is like... potato cake with tuna filling, sort of! It's delicious. Ok, honestly, everything that I have eaten here is delicious! The other day, I ate papas rellenas (that is, stuffed potatos). They were super yummy... and slightly mysterious. I can't figure out how to stuff a potato! There was meat and stuff in inside the potato, but I couldn't find any holes! How did meat get there?

After lunch, I eventually headed back to the university and got to talk to Anthony for a while!! And after class, I walked home with another friend, Ana. These people that I'm getting to know are wonderful and I love talking with them and learning from them!!

Father, I thank You for the people that You have put in my path here in Arequipa. Thank You for Danery and David and Anthony and Alonso and Ana and all of my classmates and professors. God, You have provided for me and blessed me so much with these people, and I can't find the words, in English or Spanish, to express how awesome You are!! Jesus, shower Your love upon all of my new friends and help me to be a blessing to them as they have been to me.
