Last night, we all (all of the students in the Calvin group) went to Jessica's house to celebrate her birthday. It was quite fun!! We talked and laughed a lot, played some fun games, did some silly dances, ate some yummy cake and some delicious chicken and rice, and enjoyed the wonderful company.
When I wasn't preparing for my presentation today, I was at the mall eating ice cream with Tita, Andrea, Kike, and Sebastian (Kike's four year old son who is adorable!). It was really fun hanging out with them this afternoon!! I had chirimoya ice cream. Chirimoya is a fruit, and it's quite delicious in ice cream form. I have observed that most of the ice cream flavors here are fruity.
In addition to spending some time with mi familia, I went with Sydney, Emily, and Amy to purchase bus tickets. This week is a free week for us. We have no classes! The rest of the students at the university have partial exams this week, but our professor arranged for us to take the exams at different times so we have the week off. So, Amy, Fuller, Emily, Sydney, and I have planned an adventure!! On Tuesday evening, we are going to get on a bus that will take us to Nazca, Peru. In Nazca, we will get on a little airplane and fly around and see the Nazca Lines, which are huge lines drawn in the desert by people hundreds of years ago. These designs are so big that it's impossible to see them without going in an airplane, but somehow, people made them without airplanes. The people who created them never actually got to see them, becuase they didn't have airplanes!!! After that, we are going to go to Paracas, Peru, home of the National Reserve of Paracas. It looks awesome. We're going to see some really cool stuff!!!
And then this evening I went to youth group and Iglesia Fe! And after that, a group of us went to a little cafe and hung out for a bit.
