I AM GOING TO BE A TEACHER!!!!!!!!

Today we had a control (that's a quiz) in Algebra Lineal y Geometria Analitica. Once eveyone had turned in their work, the professor went over the problems on the board, and I learned quite a bit. I learned that I was doing a couple of things wrong.

Last week in class, the professor verbally gave a definition for a term. I wrote down what I understood and tried to make sense of the rest. In the classes that followed, my definition worked well for me. I was getting the problems right, and I understood what I was doing. However, I learned after the quiz that my definition was close to being right, but not quite right. For many of the problems that we had done, my definition was close enough that I could still get the problem right. However, the problem on the quiz was one that gave a different answer for my definition than it did for the correct definition.

Before long, I am going to be a teacher with my own classroom (OH COOL!!!), and chances are I am eventually going to have a student who speaks English about as well as I speak Spanish. It is really not easy to learn new things in Spanish. It takes so much thinking for me, and even with all that thinking, I'm still missing quite a bit of details that are relatively important. When I find myself teaching students who are learning English, I want to remember how I feel now.

And here are some pictures of my house!

This is my bed.

These are the stairs that ascend and descend daily.

This is the room right next to my bedroom. Those windows are the ones with the really cool view of the mountains!!

This is my bathroom!

This is my desk and my comfy chair!
God, thank You for Your presence with me. Prepare me for what is coming tomorrow and help me to see You at work throughout the day. Thank You that Your plans are infinitely better than mine, and help me to chase after Your plans rather than my own. And Jesus, I pray that Tita and Vicente and Andrea would be overwhelmed by Your overflowing grace and peace and love for them. Thank You so much for them, God!
