It is December 3 and it is so sunny and warm outside!!! Getting off a plane in Grand Rapids is going to be a bit of a shocker!! Mom and Dad, please bring my winter coat!!!
Those of you who have lived with me (and some other people, too... Lauren) know that tears come relatively easy for me. You'll be surprised to learn that I have hardly cried at all here in Peru! Seriously!! But, don't worry... I made up for a bit of that last night. As I wrote my blog last night about the great times that I've had here and how I'm not terribly excited about saying "goodbye", the tears started to flow. Yeah, I cried for a little while. I thought I was being quiet, but Tita somehow heard me and we had a bit of sob-fest together. In the end, she showed me this youtube video. She said it's her favorite song, and that every time I'm sad, I should listen to it and think of her. Oh man, my host mother is wonderful. God, all I can say is thank You and that seems sooooo very inadequate! But I'll say it anyway!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
And now, I have a final exam in two and a half hours. I suppose I'll read through my notes a few times so that I have a vague idea of what's going to be on this test. But not until after I shower and clean my room a bit! Happy Monday!
Enjoy these last few days in Arequipa! I am so glad that God has provided a wonderful host mother and friends for you in Peru! Although I am excited to see you, please use these days to enjoy the people you are surrounded by and don't think about us in the States too often!
